Nader Go Home
Outside of his obvious attempt to sway votes away from the Democratic nominee the way that he did to Gore in his race against Bush 4 years ago, I don’t feel that Nader has any business entering this year’s presidential race at such a late stage in the game.
Personally, I
respect Nader for his work as an activist and environmentalist and for the changes that he helped to influence in the automobile manufacturing industry. I do however question his motive in entering a political race in which the Democratic Party is showing all indications of winning by a landslide this November.
While it is easy to argue that as an American Nader has the right to enter the race if he wants to, the fact of the matter is that this will be his 5th attempt and his chances of winning are so slim that he couldn’t possibly believe that his efforts will yield different results this time than we have all seen from him in the past.
If Nader wants to help this country, I would suggest that he find another way to do it that doesn’t involve throwing himself into a race that he clearly cannot win for the simple sake of swaying votes toward a Republican candidate who without him, wouldn’t have a chance in hell of winning either.
