Goodbye Prolink Hosting Hello BlueFur
At the beginning of February I published an article focused on
issues I had encountered with my hosting service provider at the time, Prolink Hosting (link intentionally excluded).
A few days ago, Jcyreus dot Com experienced a brief outage lasting just over 1 hr, which was what finally did me in.
Going off of a
recommendation from John Chow dot Com in his free “Make Money Online Ebook” and elsewhere on his blog, I decided to go with a Canadian firm known as
BlueFur Web Hosting.
The difference between the 2 service providers was night and day from the beginning in terms of available support options and their ability to quickly answer my questions. With the 15% discount I received from using John Chow’s promotional code, one year of hosting (with more than enough bandwidth and storage space) is only going to cost me $60 more than Prolink Hosting did. Of course, BlueFur’s reliability is yet to be seen. They claim 99% uptime, but so does everyone. You can be sure that I will let you know if uptime is anything less than expected. I certainly doubt that someone like John Chow would rely on or endorse someone if their services were not among the best available at that price.
One of the things that impressed me most, aside from some noticeable performance differences, was a free migration service that they offer to clients needing to move their website(s) from an existing hosting service over to BlueFur’s servers. Not that this is a necessarily difficult task (it is really just a matter of copying your files from the old server and restoring them on the new server), but it is something that saved me time, which has always been one of my most precious resources.
Cheers to reliability at a great price and Thanks John Chow dot Com for the recommendation!
